Normal opening days: We are closed every Tuesday. Any orders placed on Tuesdays for immediate delivery will be delivered on the following Wednesday
If you have any queries or questions what-so-ever, please do not hesitate to contact us. We will be more than happy to help. Our top priority is to deliver your sentiment exactly as you would like it to be sent!
The easiest and quickest way to resolve any queries you may have is to call us on 0151 637 2227 during working hours. Alternatively, you can use our contact form. We attend to our email on a constant basis during working hours.
The information given herein is to help you in your use of our site and constitutes our full Terms and Conditions.
The recipient details are entered during checkout, so we can only accept one named recipient and delivery address per order. If you have ordered more than one item, shipping discounts will apply and you will only be charged for one delivery.
Most products are available in a range of sizes and packaging options, so you have plenty of choice. It is rare that we don't have the exact flowers in stock for any of our items, but some flowers are very seasonal, and others may be unavailable at market at the specific time of your ordering, or during busy peak periods some varieties may run out of stock, so we do have to have a substitution policy. We reserve the right to substitute flowers or colours, at the discretion of the florist, with similar flowers of equal high quality and similar or higher value.
All flowers are delivered with a small card on which you can write your own short message. Please use the notes box on the checkout page to write your message. Please be aware, the cards on which we write your messages are small (business card sized) so there is limited space. Therefore, even though the notes box will allow unlimited characters, we cannot write lengthy passages on these cards and will have to shorten your message if it is too long.
Once you have placed and paid for your order, the automatic system will send you one or two emails. The first is your "Receipt of order" confirmation from Sue Makin Flowers and, if you have paid using Paypal the second is an email receipt from Paypal confirming your payment was successful. So please be careful to enter your email address correctly and be sure to check your email regularly.
We then manually check the details of your order and if all the delivery details are correct, we will confirm via email that your order has been accepted and is being processed for dispatch.
Almost all orders go through without a hitch! However, if we encounter any problems with your order, such as invalid delivery address, then we will need to contact you to query these. In the unlikely event that we can not accept your order, or we have been unable to contact you to resolve any problems, you will be notified by email that your order has been cancelled and a full refund issued.
Ordering in Advance
You are welcome to order in advance of our stated deadlines. Most of our customers order at least two days prior to the stated delivery date.
It is actually beneficial to place your order at least two days prior to the stated deadline for ordering. This gives us plenty of time to check and confirm the details, resolve any problems, order in all the necessary flowers, plants and or mechanics, and to organise the delivery schedule. This becomes especially important during busy peak periods such as Christmas, Mother's Day and Valentine's Day, when volumes of work are greatly increased.
There is no limit to how early you can place your order. A few of our customers place their Christmas orders in October! You can trust us to take care of your order, and be assured that it will be delivered on your requested date of delivery (with the exception of non-working days).
Standard delivery charge for Wirral deliveries is £5.00. However, if you would like to collect your flowers directly from our shop, then you can add the COLLECT255 discount code at checkout, which means that you won't be charged for delivery.
Please note: this is not a free delivery code. If you use this code, then your order will be made and will be waiting in the shop for you to collect. No delivery, even if a delivery address is given, will be made. Items which have been ordered for collection, but are not collected before we close on the expected date of collection will not be eligible for a refund.
Please use the notes box on the checkout page to specify your desired delivery date. Next day delivery is available on most bouquets in our catalogue. Orders must be placed before 3pm for next day delivery. Please state your desired delivery date in the notes box on the checkout page.
We require at least four days notice for funeral flowers, so that we may source exactly the right flowers for your design. Important: in the notes box on the checkout page, please be sure to state the name of the deceased and the time of the funeral.
Please note: we do not deliver on Tuesdays as our shop is closed. The only exceptions are funeral flowers, the 23rd December, 24th December, 13th February and 14th February. Orders placed within a one working day period for next day delivery which is a Tuesday and are not during the peak periods specified above will be delivered on the Wednesday.
During busy peak periods, such as Christmas, Valentine's Day and Mother's Day, the last date for guaranteed delivery may be earlier than one working day. Please see each specific item for required notice.
Please be sure to enter the full name (first and surname) of the recipient and the correct and full delivery address. If the address you have given cannot be verified using the Royal Mail Postcode Finder then we may need to contact you to verify the address.
The delivery address is entered during checkout, so we can only accept one named recipient and delivery address per order. If you have ordered more than one item, shipping discounts will apply and you will only be charged for one delivery.

AMENDING YOUR ORDER
If you would like to amend any details of your order you must notify us as soon as you possibly can. Usually e-mail is the fastest way of contacting us, especially if you are outside of the UK. We check our incoming mail constantly. We will accommodate your wishes wherever possible although it may not always be possible to make the changes you request, especially if the order is for imminent delivery and has been made and / or delivered.
CANCELLING YOUR ORDER
If you would like to cancel your order you must notify us as soon as you possibly can and not later than 36 hours in advance of the scheduled delivery date. We require at least four working days notice if you would like to cancel an order for funeral flowers. As all our products are bespoke, made to order and perishable products, your purchase is not covered by the Consumer Contracts Regulations (formerly the Distance Selling Regulations). Therefore all cancellations requested later than these notice times are subject to a cancellation fee to cover wastage charges incurred up to the value of your order.
We do not disclose customer's or recipient's information to third parties, except for the purposes of processing, effecting and dispatching orders if necessary. We do not send unsolicited (or spam) e-mail. We will e-mail you with regards to an order you have placed or an enquiry you have made. Data collected by this site is used to take and fulfill customer orders, administer and enhance the site and service, and we only disclose information to third-parties for delivery purposes. - Certain varieties of flowers may be delivered in bud to ensure a longer vase life.
- Some flowers and foliage may be toxic or cause skin irritations. Keep out of reach of children. Always wash your hands after handling flowers and plants.
- Never place flowers or plants on or near electrical equipment, and always use a protective mat or layer between the container and the surface on which it sits.
- Lily pollen from stamens is known to stain permanently - avoid contact with all surfaces (you may prefer to remove stamens from the blooms as they open).
- Some arrangements may contain candles, fresh fruit or other decorative items. These are intended purely for display - fruit should not be eaten (in case it contains potentially harmful fixatives) and candles should not be lit (in case they fall over, or are placed near inflammable material).
Our substitution policy applies. Therefore all products shown on this site are representations of the designs that will be reproduced by the florist who prepares your order and as such we cannot guarantee that your product will look exactly like the design shown in the picture.
All orders for bouquets and flowers arrangements are dispatched with care cards detailing the care and handling of our products. These give all the information required to ensure the longevity of your product. Whilst we guarantee the use of the best quality products, once dispatched we make no guarantees as to the vase life or longevity of our products, because as a perishable product this is wholly dependent upon their care and conditions.
We are not liable for any damage to persons or property caused by negligence or misuse of our products (other than that which is directly the responsibility of Sue Makin Flowers).
Spelling errors - We have tried to the best of our ability to ensure that all spellings on our site are correct, including those of place names. We cannot guarantee, however, that there are no spelling errors on the site and ask for your patience and understanding.
Pricing errors - In the event that a product is mistakenly listed at an incorrect price, we reserve the right to refuse or cancel any orders placed for a product listed at the incorrect price. We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any such orders whether or not the order has been confirmed and your credit / debit card / Paypal account charged. If you have already paid for the purchase and your order is cancelled, we shall issue a refund to your card for the amount of the incorrect price and we will notify you of this by e-mail.
